Forces at Work 2017
Opening First Friday November 3
On view through November 19
Forces at Work highlights selected work from current students as a way to survey contemporary research and practice within RIT’s Schools of Art, American Crafts and Photography. This is the second iteration of Forces at Work, bringing together students across the College of Imaging Arts & Sciences whose works span wide across various concepts and materials, both experimental and refined.
“Usually, the only time works like these are shown is during class critiques and internal studio visits,” says John Aasp, Gallery Director. “Some of them end up in thesis shows, but opportunities for students to exhibit across disciplines are rare. This show provides a platform to see the work in a group format. It’s a stepping stone for students and a great opportunity for Rochester to see what’s going on in the art programs and studios at RIT.”
This year’s Forces at Work features Fatamah Bamashmous, Timothy Grayson, Laural Hartman, Su Hyeon Kang, Sarah Kinard, Rose Liu, Chenyang Mu, Dylan Obser, Kibaek Sung, Yuge Wang, Sophia Wojnovich, and Ji Eun Yoon.
